Beyond clinical experience, interns participate in a robust educational curriculum that includes weekly didactic lectures, journal club, and Morbidity & Mortality rounds. IndyVet also hosts monthly continuing education lectures for regional veterinarians and technicians, offering additional opportunities for interns to learn, connect, and grow within the broader veterinary community.

What does a Veterinary Internship look like?

This year-long rotating internship at IndyVet Emergency & Specialty Hospital provides broad exposure across specialties with the flexibility to tailor experiences to your career goals, including external rotations in areas not offered in-house. A key focus of our program is meaningful one-on-one mentorship, giving interns direct access to specialists and experienced ER clinicians for personalized teaching, case guidance, and skill development. We are intentional about supporting intern wellness, we prioritize fair scheduling, protected learning time, and a culture that values balance to help support life-long learning. Interns also receive CE funding, dedicated time to attend national conferences like VECCS, ACVIM, and ACVS, and access to professional resources through Ethos to ensure continued growth both personally and professionally.
