Alicia Howser, DVMAlicia Howser, DVM
Dr. Howser attended Cal Poly San Luis Obispo where she received a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science and a Minor is Business Administration. Following graduation she continued with her job as a licensed veterinary technician in a 24-hour emergency hospital in California for two years. She then moved overseas to attend veterinary school at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland. She completed her veterinary degree, known as a Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery in the UK, in June 2014 before coming to IndyVet for a small animal rotating internship and to begin her next chapter in the States.

Dr. Howser has a keen interest in small animal emergency medicine and cardiology. After she completes her internship, she plans to find work at a clinic where she can continue to practice in emergency medicine, and may pursue a residency in cardiology. She has moved to Indiana with her cat, Baby Kitty, who is far from being a baby anymore.

Cassandra Martin , DVMCassandra Martin, DVM
Dr. Martin grew up in Olney, Maryland before attending The University of Alabama on an athletic scholarship. There, she competed with the NCAA's Division I Alabama Gymnastics team while earning her B.S. in Interdisciplinary Natural Sciences. Dr. Martin then attended the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in Blacksburg, Virginia, where she competed with the Virginia Tech Gymnastics Club as she earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. She is currently pursuing a career as a zoo animal veterinarian.

Dr. Martin has two cats named Kitty and Greg. In her free time, she enjoys taking flying trapeze lessons, staying involved with the National Association of Intercollegiate Gymnastics Clubs (NAIGC), and traveling.

Tracey Gillespie, DVMZachary Westrick, DVM
Dr. Westrick grew up in Fort Wayne, IN. He attended Wabash College in Crawfordsville, IN where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts and majored in Biology. For veterinary school, Dr. Westrick attended the University of Illinois and graduated in May 2014.

His main interest in veterinary medicine is ophthalmology, and he plans to become board certified one day. He would like to work with horses, along with dogs and cats.

He spends his free time caring for (and cleaning up after) his dog, cat, rabbit, and fish tank. Dr. Westrick also enjoys being outdoors, running, and two-stepping.
