Vet clinic presents donations to IACC & Cat's Haven

The Indianapolis Veterinary Emergency Center (IVEC) kicked off the New Year by collecting dozens of pet supplies, toys and treats to present to Indianapolis Animal Care & Control (IACC) and Cat's Haven as part of its annual holiday pet collection.

"It's great to see the community unite and help us contribute to area shelters this time of year," said Joe Huber, executive director of IVEC. "As an emergency veterinary clinic, we know firsthand how important it is to ensure animals have proper food and care for their well-being."

IACC enforces all animal-related ordinances in Indianapolis and helps rescue animals in distress or danger on an emergency basis. Each year, IACC cares for approximately 18,000 surrendered, homeless, abandoned, abused and neglected animals. The shelter depends almost entirely on donations from individuals and corporations for food.

Cat's Haven, Indianapolis' oldest no-kill cat shelter, was founded over 20 years ago as a sanctuary for special-needs cats and kittens, and senior cats who outlived their owners. The shelter now houses nearly 200 cats, many of who are waiting to be adopted into their fur-ever homes.

IVEC hosts its annual holiday collection for different local shelters every year after Thanksgiving. For more information about IVEC, call 317.782.4418.
